I'm a sophomore in high school, and I really like a guy who is a college freshman.
I feel mature enough to keep up conversation with him and communication is truly, in my opinion, what makes a relationship work.
I know plenty of people my age who aren't mature enough to date older people, but I know people his age who are barely mature enough to handle themselves, let alone another person in a relationship.
To a point, age is just a number, though some couplings could be considered absurd.

i think age doesn't matter to a certain extent. 14 dating 18 is a little much but like 14 dating 16 really isn't. it really matters on how you feel with each other not the age difference.

Age IS just a number in relationships. The bond that's supposed to be between two people is more important. I mean once you get to the 20's and 30's, a 4 year age difference doesn't seem like a big deal.. the only time you need to be careful is the preteen to teen years.. as long as you don't get involved in any potential lawbreaking activities.. I don't think age matters.. sometimes the only people who you can relate to are not your age.

i don't think that age should matter, unless one of the people involved is really young and don't know what they're doing

I think this is a hard question. It's one of those where, personally, I think, well, during your teenage years, I think about 4 years difference is how it should be, max. But that's not a set in stone thing. It just depends on who you meet, and how much you care for them. You should like someone for who they are, not how old, or how young they are. I can't see myself being one of those people who sees someone who's significantly older than I am, but to each's own.

You are absolutely right, and I think this is where the problem starts. When you're older it doesn't really matter, and shouldn't matter right now, but it does and that's a fact. We change so much in these crucial years...

up to 5 years older when your about 17 after 23 it doesnt really matter

i would say if you are in high school i would stick to your own grade or a grade 1 up or 1 down....a freshman and a senior is wrong! a sophomore and a senior is still kinda wrong
