I have a tattoo, it's on my lower back. I designed part of it my self, well the only bit a didn't design is the middle upside down heart bit.

I got it almost a year ago now. It doesn't really have any meaning to it, it's just a design that i really liked. I had always wanted one on my lower back so I went with it.
I plan to get another one later on this summer with any luck, I've already designed it and it's to go on my neck/top of my back. But I know someone who got one there last week and she said it really hurt her, but I'm trying not to let it put me off.
It's so hard to experience the pain I felt when getting my lower back one, on the spine it like felt really hot, and that it was grinding against my bone, but on the fleshy bit it just really stung, like I was being nipped or something. And it didn't go numb at all, it was constant pain for 40 minutes. I got pins and needles in my fingers from griping the back of the chair too hard. I make it sound like a really unpleasant experience but it's really not that bad. I looked at it this way, if it hurt so much then people wouldn't go back to get more and more. After all, if you are really happy with the outcome then the pain gets forgotten about.

I wanted one for the longest time. I was thinking of getting it on my left hip, not on my hip but that area. I want to get a fairy, just something really simple and small in black and white.

I want to get one on my side now. A buddha. Kinda small, between my hip and ribs.

I've been considering dedicating the Celtic cross I want on my right forearm to my uncle who killed himself when I was 10.

There's a couple I want to get, one like a series of small stars going around my left wrist, and the other, a pisces symbol...Where I'd get that one at I haven't decided yet.

I currently only have one tattoo but I want to get a lot more.  The one I have now is a phoenix and it is on my forearm.  I got it because phoenixes are said to die and rise again from their ashes and that is sort of how I feel about me.  Now matter how bad things get I just rise up from it.  It is not complete ret because I want it to have flames that it is coming out of to symbolize the situations I have made it through.

Some tattoos I want are a triquatra, a black star on my elbow with the Gemini symbol in red in the middle, a pentacle, and a self-portrait.

Not that bad really. Some of the shading was painful, but I was completely ok and held normal conversation throughout the whole thing.

That's on the back of your calf yeah? I would expect that to be quite painful actually, seeing as it's muscle, but good thing it weren't. Did you design it yourself?
I couldn't hold conversation throughout mine, I was too busy counting the floor tiles to take my mind off the pain. Ha.

I dunno, I picked the back of the calf cuz I thought it would hurt less than being over bone. Haha if it hurts less over bone, I am set!

And yea, I designed it, but the artist made it look so much better.

I want to get another one on my side (lower ribs), which I think will hurt A LOT more.

I've had one go over my spine, yeah, I won't lie, that bit did hurt, as I explained in my 1st post haha.
It's good, was there any reason for picking those flowers, or was it just something you liked?
Yeah lower ribs would probably hurt a fair bit, the skin isn't as tough there.
My next one is going to be at the top of my spine, like a bit on the bottom of my neck, a bit kind of going across my shoulders and then a bit going down my spine. That one WILL hurt.
