1. Communication is NOT totally language derived. For one, physical states offer us a great deal of information about another person, even where words fail [or the person lies]. Also, Prior to spoken language, our ancestors likely had heightened senses of physiological perception/communication. [or if not heightened, at least more honed.] To claim that understanding of emotion is entirely language derived is a silly notion. Especially since emotions can not be objectively described to someone. Only one who has felt happiness would understand what you are talking about when you say "I feel happy" 2. Again, this is NOT a theory, but a fleeting thought. However, as you see it as a HUGE stretch of reality, I do not. It is obvious that the brain would be aware of the state it is in and what signals it sends out while it is happy/sad/whatever. If, somehow, a human was born with a mere heightened sensitivity to these external brain emissions, is it SO hard to believe that perhaps his brain would recognize the similarity of the stimulus to his own emotion of X, and take note of it?

EH, I'm not exactly crafting a theory here, I'm not in even in a related field, and I don't really know much about the human brain apart from maybe saya 5th grader's knowledge? swt. However, what I do have, a an understanding of the human behavior and the functions of the mind in everyday situations amongst the many subjects I've been dealing with. I do support your EM theory, but of course, there is no concrete proof to that either, and since I don't know nuts about it, you could call that a blind vote. Here is a nice little objective test for you, Uruz, tell me what's going on in this picture of just my face, tell me if you can: 1. Where I am. 2. What I'm doing. 3. How many people I'm with.. 4. What they are doing. 5. What I'm thinking about at that moment, or what I'm thinking about now, either one's fine with me. You're going to fail because you don't have any magical perception abilities, especially not from looking at a fucking picture. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=952292&l=c7d5a&id=729967734
I've never claimed to have magical perception that others don't, neither do I have direct control over it, but I'll do it for the challenge. Cold reading has nothing to do with the sixth sense, yes. . . Thats why a majority of fortune tellers are actually practising a skill rather than having true ability to connect with the dead or whatever they claim to be, nevertheless, tapping into this area also does involve the subconcious mind - which is also one of the keys many psychologists attribute to the inner 'controls' of the mind - Passive programming sets up the mind alert towards whatever we tune it to - which can mean immenent danger, or even the self-healing process. Well.. for the basics - of course what can be seen from your personality on the picture (and NOT form the way you're expressing yourself on the forum, because your posts speak a great deal about yourself). I'll send you in pm (for what I can do right now, my time is pretty limited - so you are free to flame me while I go and 'meditate' in a corner). You can post the pm if you want, but some of the stuff may be a little less than sweet, so that's at your descretion.

It is unnerving how wrong you are in the subject of language and its ability to accurately describe emotion. By send signals out [I admit, my choice of words left something to be desired] I meant by sending electrical impulses through the brain. I am not claiming that the brain emits waves. only that the electric activity in the brain could cause an, albeit minute, EM field that could surround the brain. I did not claim that it was anything more than a fleeting thought to begin with.
Anything that is incomprehensible and then taken in by the brain and made understandable, regardless of whether or not it is understandable verbally, is a process of language. No matter how it happens, if your brain tells my brain that your brain is distressed, communication has occurred. I am not wrong on this. You make huge leaping assumptions on how these 'electrical impulses' in the brain work, and you're making a mindblowing assumption about the perceptive ability of the brain. The minimum amount of electricity required for a human to so much as detect that it's even present is a lot more than these supposed "impulses" can possibly produce, and so even if they do exist, a human has no way of detecting it, we don't have a magical sensor (as in, NO ONE does) and we don't have a magical contraption to make sense of the signals our non existent sensor is receiving. Even if it is just a "distortion" of our own field of electricity, our brain doesn't know it's happening. Quite frankly, electrical fluctuation is far faster than the human brain can process or make sense of. Any distortion would come and go completely undetected. As I said, everything is sensory, there is no such thing as "extra" sensory. The closest thing to mind reading is expression and body reading, which can in some cases be rather accurate. So there is at least that.

Why are you worried that I'll flame you while you meditate in the corner, I'm curious to see if you pull through with any accuracy or not. It's as simple as "can you answer the questions I gave you" or can't you. I could tell someone what I thought their personality was knowing absolutely nothing about them and without even seeing their picture and I'd end up being largely right a significant number of times, just on the basis of probability and how broad my descriptions are or how well I choose likely traits. That's not ESP though, that's being a scam artist.
For the same reason, I'm not accurate to 100%, but when I first did the test, I was not innacurate to the rate of random chance. One example was with one of our classmates - I 'pictured a sinking boat, in the middle of the river (in the town she grew up in) sinking. How many people sink on a boat (a sampan - not sure whats the proper word for it in English) in their lives as a kid? The question picked up was - for a traumatic childhood experience, and it was really a childhood experience. That even sent me off my seat, even though the accuracy rate of such kind of 'readings' were around 50% - and its very true, we have a lot of our own imaginations making no sense - but while sifting through, its possible to actually filter the imaginary part and the 'real' thing. Another interesting case was . . well, even if I told you, you won't believe me . . so I'll try my best as a con artist for now -.- I don't really believe in astrology, but the 'real' practitioners had to have some sort of skill for it to actually be coined - its kind of interesting I just found out you're a Leo. I know its a psychology effect too - and many astrologers use these techniques - I've been able to find that some are able to be very accurate (in the sense they are not playing with the Forer's effect) . . And thats whats keeping me ineterested ins tudiyng this aspect.

Uruz. Your readings were False and you Failed my objective test. You wrote: This is what I can directly identify from the photo - Maybe you can call it cold reading, but thing is, I'm nto that clear on cold reading myself, its just a matter of experience in observing behavior. From the photo: 1. You typically grew up as a kind of guy others would call as a 'nice' kid with fine manners. Generally no particular big issue early in life. Then, something went wrong - this probably occured several years ago - an estimate about 3-4 years back - 2. You are highly emotional and easily driven by mood swings - you express your frustations openly. It is only recently, (during the recovery preoid from whatever happened 3-4 years ago) that you put effort to subdue this aspect, from which, perhaps somebody influenced you to start appreciating the little things a little bit more. 3. You have a negative view of life, and you generally look at things from the negative viewpoint (This is quite general, but I do know about 30-40% look at life from a fully positive perspective) You only continue to live hoping to be able to get out of that state sometime in the future. 4. You desire meaning in life, in contrast to many others around who live to eat, you really, really, really, want meaning in life (NOT Barnum statement), life without a clear direction for you is equal to no life, you'd be better off dead. 5. The look in your eyes (based on the photo, or as that time) are that of a seeker, you are still searching for your true meaning in life (you've been searching for a while), or what meaning life has, with a cynical point of view, as you generally deem a majority of others as worthless or sub standard (Now, this does not mean you express them openly, but you feel that in general, humans are fools - when they think they are wise). You despise the 'ugliness' of the world and want to do somethign about it (Others generally ignore it in contrast). 6. You are very very very self-critical of yourself and others (which also means you're stubborn to what you believe in - even until you've been put down beyond reasonable doubt, sometimes you'd still fight your case), and it leaks out to the people around you (You try to hide this nature among those you interact with), some close friends may comment on your behavior, but those further away from you generally hold you in high regard. This is a wild guess - You took the photo in front of your garage (or on the driveway) - your neighbourhood generally consists of single storey homes. From what I'm 'imagining', I can see a tree on the right side of your home (your right neighbour). There are some clouds on the horizon (off photo), but basically a sunny day (as in the photo). You were alone (in the general vincinity) when to took the photo. Chances are its not accurate - I'm doing this while hiding from my boss - so yeah its an excuse I can't do it - I'll keep that photo you gave, I'll pm you more. --------------------------------------- ------------------------------- Feel free to try again when you have more time to concentrate and do whatever it is you do that makes you better at this.
