The mass love, I think, comes partly from the fact that it's total wish fulfillment (teenage girl uprooted from her old home where she was a little fish in a big pond to this new home where suddenly, she's the most beautiful girl in school, every boy wants to date her, and she's the only one beautiful and perfect enough for the Adonis-like Edward Cullen...who also happens to be a sexy vampire). Though there are always exceptions, most teenage girls would find that to be a dream come true.

Everyone wants to be more special than they are, and books like Harry Potter and Twilight allow people to live that special life vicariously through their heroes. Twilight just does it a bit more fluffily and poorly-written-ly than Harry Potter.

Agreed, But The Guy Who Plays Edward [Robert.. ?] Isn`t Excatly "Unhumanely" Gorgeous. He`s A Little Freaky Actually. Instead Of Hot. But That`s My Opinion [:

I love the storyline, however I did find it a bit hard to get into but once I was, I was hooked and didn't want to put it down. It's an amazing read (as I've read many things that is saying something). I think it's the whole mysterious surrounding the Cullen family that makes it a good reads. It's something I found easy to see in my mind and enjoyed it.

The film, some parts shown in trailers aren't as my imagination sees them but i expect that and can't wait to see it.

like i really love her writing style, no doubt. she is very pleasantly discriptive allowing the reader to imagine things clearly.

but bella annoys me. she only loves him cus he's "goreous" she fell for him before she even got to know him.

and edward is a little conceited and it annoys me lol

overall i will say it's a good book. just not of myparticular taste

i'm waiting for the REAL conflict to start. with the hunters, ya know? i want the bad guys to step in. and i want the wolves to be more involved. i'm already 65% the way the the book and the bad guys haven't even showed up yet. and THEY were the main reason i wanted to start reading it. them and the wolves. but *sigh* oh well. i will just have to wait cus i definately want to read the whole book so.....and i dont have that much farther to go

Just so you know, the books pretty much never have any ~real~ conflict. Even when SMeyer tries to build up to a ~real~ conflict, it ends up being resolved happy funtimes day with just a bit of sparkle.

This isn't the series to read if you're looking for conflict.

actually, she has tremendous writing sk. i mean she graduated with a degree in english. so she's a great writer. i just however dont enjoy her stories

Graduating with a degree in English does not make someone a good writer; it makes them someone with a degree that qualifies them to say "Would you like fries with that?" (and before you get all offended, I have my degree in English as well)
